tumblrbot asked: WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?
Most probably Haerbin, in Northern China when the ice festival comes to town. Really interested to see the convergence of Chinese culture and Russian architecture, and also have an interest in the Japanese occupation of the wider area during the 30s.
Confucian wisdom asserts that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step (千里之行,始于足下) and so it was that this weekend, development of My Yuban (alpha) took it’s first step.
We’re currently working hard behind the scenes building a social networking site that develops relationships between the Chinese speaking world and the English speaking world, to improve cultural understanding and aid learners of both languages.
Our ultimate goal here is to provide people with the tools they need to take their language skills out into the real world and explore what’s around them.
We’ve been in talks with the University of Sheffield this week, who are anxious to support us with our alpha testing and are excited about the possibilities that our platform holds for communicating with their Chinese student population.
We’ll be uber-busy over the coming weeks and months, but stay tuned for updates on our progress and a variety of teasers about what’s to come.
We’ll also let you know when everything is up and running!
Over and Out
